The Moonee Valley City Council (MVCC) is currently considering a proposal to relocate Essendon Cricket Club (ECC) to Fairbairn Park, Ascot Vale, Victoria due to pressure from Essendon Football Club (EFC) for the cricket club to vacate their current base at Windy Hill.

This site has been established by concerned members of the community, and aims to provide links to relevant information so that a wide range of park users can remain informed of the process. We have also tried to summarise our opposition to the proposal (see 'What are the Issues') as we feel that Fairbairn Park is an inappropriate location due to significant impact on many park users. However, this is just our view, and you may wish to contact MVCC directly for more information.

We welcome any feedback about the content provided, and especially welcome input from MVCC, EFC and ECC to clarify any issues we have raised.

At the moment, MVCC has released a draft park master plan for comment. As it stands, the closing date for comments to council is 3 December 2009, although council has indicated unofficially that this may be extended. (25/11: MVCC has announced comments will be received until end Jan 2010).

Please read through the site, and if you are concerned with what you read, please make sure you provide your comments to council. Links on the right hand side of the screen will assist you in finding the information on the MVCC website.  Also, we welcome more signatories to the petitions we are raising. Click the 'What can I do' menu item for how you might go about providing feedback.
